Textile Designer & Artist Photoshoot : Betsy

Truthfully, I was so excited to get Betsy’s brand photoshoot inquiry! It’s always so much fun getting to create and collaborate with fellow creatives and I could tell from her first email that we would be a great fit! Betsy was really excited to schedule her brand photoshoot because it signified that she was officially taking the leap and turning her hobby into a business as a surface pattern designer and creative entrepreneur! HOW EXCITING! If you know me, you know how much I LOVE getting to support other creatives as they launch and grow their business!

Planning Betsy’s Brand Photoshoot:

We decided that the perfect location for Betsy’s session would be at her home in Napa, California. The beauty of the surroundings and the slowness in the air created the perfect atmosphere for us to get really creative! Because we hosted the session at her home, it allowed us more flexibility in creating different scenes and locations. We were able to capture photos of her full creative process — everything from finding inspiration (by foraging plants and flowers) to designing the patterns on her computer to seeing the final product pinned on her wall. It’s always such an honor to capture a client’s full scope of creativity — and that’s exactly what happened during her brand photoshoot!

The Photoshoot Experience:

One thing that really stood out to me during our planning process, was that Betsy referred to our prep and planning as ‘heartstorming’. Can we just take a second to sit with that and think about how wonderful of a word that is?! It’s such a beautiful way of describing the planning process for a brand photoshoot (so much so, that I might have to use it for all of my sessions moving forward!)

I’m so excited to share all of the beauty behind this session! We chose a variety of scenes for her brand photoshoot including: working from her desk, foraging greenery and plants in her backyard, pinning her designs, and of course, some beautiful outdoor headshots. I’m so excited to share all of the goodness below!
