This beach picnic engagement session was truly an inspiration. It was so much fun capturing these styled photos in the warm Seattle sunshine. I loved all of the details, including the picnic basket, polaroid camera, and evening beach bonfire! A beach engagement session is the perfect way to casually capture your love story. We had the most perfect Seattle sunset for the shoot. Thanks so much to Amy from Gather Design Company for styling this shoot for the Belle Lumiere film photography workshop!
If you’re dreaming of a beach getaway with someone special and looking for a fun way to capture memories, this post is for you! On this gorgeous summer day in Seattle, we captured this beach picnic engagement session and brought along a whole bunch of goodies for them to sit back, relax, and enjoy themselves. Some of the things included a polaroid camera, blanket, picnic basket, crossword puzzle, and some wood for an evening bonfire.
A lot of my couples ask me if they need to bring props to their engagement session — and the answer is that it’s totally up to you! For this session in particular, we wanted it to be styled and feel more like a “lifestyle” session than anything else. However, if you’re planning a more traditional engagement session where you want to showcase your love story, only bring along the props that help tell your story! Did you meet at a book club? Bring along some of your favorite books! Do you love doing crossword puzzles together? Bring some along! But at the end of the day, if you want to just enjoy each others company and explore beautiful places — then just worry about bringing yourselves, your smile, and an adventurous attitude.
Is a beach picnic engagement session on your list of to-do’s for this summer?!
